Black-capped Chickadee
This is the information printed on the back of each Chickadee card:
One of North American's most lovable little song birds, the Black-capped
Chickadee, is common from coast to coast. This tiny, 5 1/4" acrobatic
sprite is found in woodlands of all kinds, parks and backyards. The
male and female are identical. Their favorite diet is insects, suet
and seeds, especially black oil sunflower seeds. Try standing or sitting
by your bird feeders with a few sunflower seeds in your open hand,
and thrill to the touch of a Black-capped Chickadee perching on a
finger while taking a seed from your hand.

Western Screech-Owl
This Screech-owl
fledgling is about 45 days old and is still unable to care for himself.
He will stay with his brothers and sisters while both parents teach
them to fly and to find and catch food. Their diet consists of mice,
large insects, flying squirrels, bats, frogs, worms, reptiles, fish,
crayfish and birds wherever they find them. They spend the daylight
hours in a hole in a tree or in the rafters of an abandoned building
and begin hunting soon after dusk. The Western Screech-owl occupies
many habitats in the western mountains, suburbs, orchards, farms,
river bottoms, aspens and evergreen forests.
